Also known as: Ipamorelin, GHRP, Growth-hormone-releasing peptide, NNC 26-0161
Overview
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide described in the literature as a selective growth-hormone secretagogue that acts at the ghrelin (GHS) receptor. It is investigated for its role in the growth-hormone axis, where early studies reported growth-hormone release without the accompanying changes in ACTH or cortisol seen with some earlier secretagogues. It is also studied in models of body composition, bone, and gastrointestinal motility. Most of the published evidence is preclinical or drawn from small human studies, and it is not approved by the FDA. It is offered here for research use only.
Research highlights

- Studied for its role in growth-hormone release
- Described as selective, with little reported effect on ACTH or cortisol in early studies
- Investigated in models of body composition and bone
- Explored in gastrointestinal-motility research, with evidence that is mostly preclinical
